What is the shelf life and stability of the blood card?
Shelf life, storage conditions and acceptable transport time depend on the collection materials and requested assays. Follow the expiration date and storage and return instructions supplied with your program. Our team can help confirm the requirements for your program.
What type of medical device approval does the blood card have?
The blood card is used for specimen collection and transport. It does not analyze the sample or generate results; those steps belong to the partner laboratory. Contact our team for the current device classification and listing documentation for your program. Device registration or listing does not itself mean FDA approval.
Extraction overview (high level)
At the partner laboratory, material from the collected blood card is prepared and extracted using the laboratory's approved procedures. The extracted material is then analyzed using the appropriate assay methods. Extraction is a laboratory step; participants follow their program's collection and return instructions.
